Early in their show careers, many riders believed results were measured primarily by external markers—scorecards or timers.
That's only part of the story—our hearts say, and research has shown that a meaningful personal experience and connection with a horse when we show are essential to authentic competitive success and joy.
External results do matter, of course.
It's fun and fabulous to do well.
However, it's equally important to take care of our hearts, connect with our horses, navigate relationships, and fall in love with the adventure of learning.
Competitive joy is about the thrill of a connected ride in a high-energy show environment - a confidence-building experience for the horse - and a fulfilling personal experience for the rider.
The daily videos and texts are both informational and inspirational.
They are released daily in 'bite-size' pieces via email - hence 'micro-course'.
This design allows easy processing and time to 'play with' them.
The messages' release rhythm is five days per showing consideration, followed by two days off before the next topic begins.
From the email, you can click directly to the Message of the Day on the Shine website and share your thoughts.
The Messages and content of this program will be accessible to you indefinitely.
The messages begin right away and are delivered daily to your email.

The Six Considerations for Showing You'll Explore
When you gain clarity about your personal preferences—what you love, why you love it, what matters to you, and your beliefs— you can consistently return to your heart as your most valuable inner resource.
During the five days of messages in 'Coming Home,' we'll work on clarifying your thoughts and explore ideas and beliefs about what you love and yearn for.
You will:
The oneness we riders crave with a horse is the exquisite experience of a trusting relationship—one that's authentic, safe, and seamlessly communicative moment by moment.
We'll work on understanding what drives connection with our equine friends and how it can be cultivated.
You will:
Humans are hardwired to connect with others—friends, barn mates, mentors, acquaintances, and folks who surround us in the horse and show world. The goal is to navigate these relationships authentically and healthily.
You will:
The more prepared we are before entering the ring, the more it feels like a hand slipping into a glove when we walk into the arena and present our horse.
Discover how to prepare yourself and your horse mentally, physically, and technically at home and the show
You will discover the essential elements of:
We all strive to present the best of ourselves and our horses. Excellence and flexibility are the goals, not perfection.
We'll explore how a horse and rider team can enter the arena and remain in the moment throughout the ride, including mistakes.
You Will:
A thorough and systematic post-ride assessment provides specific information about where you and your horse are solid and where there are opportunities to grow.
You'll discover the multiple sources of feedback available to you, how to sort through the information to reinforce your strengths, and where to focus your energy for your next steps.
You Will:
1. Those who love to show horses because they have a passion for horses - and competition.
2. Those who enjoy evaluating their own or their horse's performance by showing. These folks go to shows to assess the progress of both horse and rider and plan to make follow-up adjustments at home after the show accordingly.
3. Folks who have stopped showing or are considering quitting because they are discouraged or can't figure out why they struggle.
4. People who enjoy being with their friends—and showing—and whose number one drive is to enjoy their fun and extraordinary showing community of horsey friends!
5. A combination of any of the above.

These words are so special to me … and I hope they will be special to you.
The words (written and spoken) are extraordinary to keep you centered in the truth of who you are, and the fun and the brilliance of your special journey with your horse. It's a powerful and personal favorite of mine and many of our community.
One of the most valuable and cherished experiences for those who take courses with me, is that – if they like – they can become a member of our circle of trust for a lifetime.
Membership in the Circle of Trust is all about community and having fun experiences together with other equine professionals in the horse world. We meet online approximately once a month with another pro who we trust, to share their perspective on connection, horse health, and a variety of other topics.
